The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl, or known as Niu Lang and Zhi Nu, is a famous love tale in Chinese mythology. The Qixi festival is equivalent to the western Valentines day that celebrates the annual meeting of the couple. A Taiwanese Opera has been made of the story starring Chen Ya-Lan, a well-established actor who acts as Niu Lang. Multiple performances are held throughout Taiwan, including 3 in Taichung at the Taichung National Theater.
Wu Liangi, a famous fashion designer who specializes in blending Chinese traditional element with western styles, has designed many customs in Chinese historical dramas. Wu and Mr. Chihsiang, also a fashion designer, designed the opera’s curtain call customs. For ticket info please visit http://bit.ly/2F8stS5
